Amica Insurance Kid's Avenue

The Amica Insurance Kids Avenue at Taste of Atlanta expands this year with the interactive kid friendly cooking stage plus more fun, FREE activities for the young - and young at heart! Step on up and sample the fare from some of Atlanta's favorite family friendly restaurants who will be serving up their specialties in the Amica Insurance Kids Avenue area of the festival.

Kids of all ages can exercise their creativity with food-focused crafts like Egg Carton Caterpillars, Pumpkin Painting, Macaroni Jewelry as well as make their own chef hat at the Amica Insurance tent. Chefs from the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the American Culinary Federation will entertain with unique and artful pumpkin carving. Kids can also unleash their inner rock star by picking up an instrument or a microphone and making a little music with Camp Jam.

The Kid's Avenue Cooking Stage will offer hands on cooking lessons for kids of all ages. Here’s a preview of what we are cooking up on the stage this year.

Saturday, October 10

12:00 Carter Hanna, Great American Bake Sale

Winner of Share our Strength’s Great American Baking Contest in the Children’s Category Carter will prepare his award winning Peppermint Velvet Cupcakes. The 9 year old from Decatur showed an interest in cooking at an early age. Carter likes to experiment in the kitchen, trying new ingredients that one doesn't normally expect to see together. He has good instincts for what works, but isn't afraid to tinker with recipes and likes to create new recipes "from scratch". While presentation is important to Carter, he knows people eat not only with their eyes, but their noses, too!
